As part of Les Passages Insolites (The Unusual Passages), a public art festival presented from July 2 to November 2, 2015, in Québec City, Canada, creatives Francis Fontaine, Luca Fortin and Pascal Labelle have created the “Petite Vie”, a mirrored site-specific installation that plays with the surrounding reflections of the neighborhood. The passage between the openings is a reminder of the relationship between the inside and the outside. The edge of the wall is a space of its own, a passage that recalls the thickness of the walls around. The mirrored surfaces of the installation reflect the visitors which walk inside creating...

Where we pray? - Aujin Rew

South Korean street photographer Aujin Rew initially studied architecture. While attending graduate school in the US, she bought a small digital camera and started to immerse herself in taking photos. Her series Where We Pray examines places of worship in and the environment surrounding them. Most of the images shown were taken in Singapore’s red-light district.

Chinese Artist Ai Weiwei finally recieves his passport

  After four years of being essentially locked inside his home country, Chinese artist Ai Weiwei has finally been given back his passport. Ai was first detained in 2011 while attempting to travel to Hong Kong and was subsequently charged with tax evasion—an accusation he attributes to his social and political activism against China. Since then, he’s been organizing his acclaimed international exhibitions from home. Now—with passport in hand—Ai plans to travel to Berlin to visit his six-year-old son.
