The electro-pop project of superstar producer Nigel Godrich, multi-instrumentalist Joey Waronker, and vocalist Laura Bettinson, Ultraista take their name from the early-20th century Spanish literary movement ulstraismo.  Before connecting with Waronker and Godrich, Bettinson performed and recored as Dimbleby & Capper, and arose from the same London-based group of musicians that produced Micahu & the Shapes and the Invisible. The trio's debut song, "smalltalk", arrived in May 2012 to much online buzz.   

  The Lumineers, a folk-rock trio out of Denver, Colorado, deliver an acoustic-based American sound that touches a lot of stylistic bases, from folk to gospel to heartland rock and the narrative end of country, all with interesting rhythmic twists and turns.  The band had its beginings in 2002 when Jeremiah Fraites lost his 19-year-old brother Josh to a drug overdose. Fraites and his brother's best friends, WEsley Schultz, turned to music to deal with their sorrow, and were soon writing songs and gigging together in New York area as a duo.
